Payments Update: Russia
As paying for some journeys has been affected by the crisis, we’re issuing periodic courtesy updates on payments in Russia and/or involving Russian-issued credit cards.
Russian-issued cards:

If you have not done so already after x March, you will need to re-authenticate your card:

Update your Wheely app to version 9.2.5 or higher [link to App Store], which requires iOS 13 or later.

Add your card again [link to Payment Section]

Journeys in Russia will be charged in RUB.

Apple Pay is no longer supported.

American Express is no longer supported.

From 16 April 2022, journeys in London, Paris, and Dubai (coming soon) will be billed in RUB at prevailing exchanges. Previously, it was not possible to pay for these journeys with Russian-issued cards.
Cards issued elsewhere:

Cards will work as normal, with no need to re-authenticate.

Journeys will be charged in the local currency.

Apple Pay was never supported.

Some payment methods, including American Express and cards issued by Ukrainian banks, no longer support RUB. From 23 April 2022, journeys can once again be made with these methods in Russia, which will be charged in USD.
